31 Jan

1 out of 5

Kellog North America (http://www.littlebrownie.com/app/)
Free (iPhone)  iTunes Link

DESCRIPTION
Helps you locate places to find Girl Scout Cookies in your area, because we all love Girl Scout Cookies.

YAYS
-Great idea in practice.

-Interesting tidbits about the different cookies.

NAYS
-Couldn’t locate any locations in the entire state of NY.

ELEGANCE VS UTILITY
The application is using a pretty standard interface to attempt to locate cookies being sold around you. The utility could be amazing if it could actually tell me where to buy cookies. Maybe it isn’t cookie selling season right now, but for now it gets a low score for being completely useless at the moment.

Content opens as you saw it on your desktop.
One click to open in Safari & numerous export & send-to options.

Google Map Handoffs originally launch the browser based maps.  You can however press an export button to open in the native Maps app.

ELEGANCE VS UTILITY
The UI is simple with a Reeder-esq style; including pull to refresh.  Simplicity is key here, as the prominent interface of this app is a chronological list of the content you’ve pushed.
